NTI Now Offering a 4-Port USB 2.0 Extender via Fiber Optic Cable

Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced the addition of the 4-Port USB 2.0 Extender via Fiber Optic Cable to its popular line of USB Extenders. The XTENDEX® USB Over Fiber Extender extends four USB 2.0 devices up to 820 feet (250 meters) using a single SC singlemode or multimode fiber optic cable.

The USB2-FOSC-4 consists of a local unit that connects to a computer and a remote unit that connects to four USB devices. The local and remote units are interconnected via a single-strand SC 9-micron singlemode or 50-micron multimode fiber optic cable.

With fully transparent USB connections, it is ideal for extending self-powered and/or bus-powered USB peripheral devices, such as security cameras, printers, scanners, touch screen monitors, game controllers, flash drives, keyboards, mice, etc. The extender supports high-speed (480 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps), or low-speed (1.5 Mbps) USB devices.

The USB2-FOSC-4 is USB 2.0 compliant, supports Plug-n-Play specification, has low RFI/EMI for sensitive applications, and requires no drivers. Each of the four USB ports on the receiver supports full 500mA current. Integrated mounting brackets for easy surface/wall mounting are included.

Available for immediate sale, the USB2-FOSC-4 USB 2.0 Extender via Fiber Optic Cable costs $830.
